I just started learning Defender (soloed black dragon with him, died against Dagiraaz) and was wondering how you guys play him.

I started off with Mega Heal and Armor Up for the permanent stats, then
put points in defensive. After taking 6 minutes to fight the Vampire
Lord because i didn't deal enough damage to counter his heal, I
reskilled with hero sword and got shield bash, mega heal, the passive
armor aura and bash.
I picked Immortal as my ultimate, but kept it on level two - no way i'd reach level 42 with that guy yet and 1% is just
far more efficient with over 18k health.

My items were:
Gods Atom (hoping it does stack with my ult)
Immortal (Hero Armor, couldn't find a legendary Armor to upgrade it)
Excalibur (will leave that one next time I play him, as buying it resets the stats gained by Mega heal)
Arcane Scepter (for Mana reg and the debuff)
Heart Container (More Lifereg)
No clue what my last item was, it gave some health for sure.

So - how do you play defender? And do you have any ideas how I could improve my build?

First of all: Inmortal was patched in 1.21c. Go try leveling it now.

Second: Try using Divine Toughness.

Followed the link to the other thread but didn't find much.

What skill progression do you use for defender? Any other tips on playing him?

Defender is difficult on good playz. He have extremly easy laning cause his regen and easy clear with stomp but for fight harder boses or to be useful for your teammates you need reset skilz and take divine tougnes with dat skill which incrase your strengh. For this you need "the world is my prey" ( best way is with any teammate which help you with stacs) or unholy crystal (blacksmith)
There is a videk on youtube. Defender solo michael. Or in survival record is replay with defender wich beat survival easy with unohly crystal.

Yeah, that was bevore the last 2 nerfs, it's probably way harder now ^^

Nah whatever biggrin this defender is only hero which can solo byatys, michail and next biggrin its unfair. There are too many other heroes which are too weak compare this.

Can't solo Mike post-nerf, and you need to pray to RNGeesus to get lucky with the poison blasts missing you.

actualy defender cant solo byatis anymore with the nerf of the world its my prey
